He learned Tantui Kungfu; the Tai Chi styles of Chen, Yang, Wu and Sun; other internal arts of Xingyi, Pagua; sword, spear and various other martial arts. Also, Sifu John had the great fortune to have some Tai Chi corrected by Master Fu Sheng Yuan, the son of Master Fu Zhong Wen.

Sifu John has been training and playing and teaching Chinese martial arts for 20 years. He teaches in Boston, MA. and he has taught seminars in many places including Jou Tsung Hwa’s Tai Chi Farm and the International Judo Camp in New York, New York City, Houston, Mexico City, Toronto, London and Zurich.

Luping encouraged John to combine the elements of different martial arts. Luping said “” John, my inside kungfu brother, I have given you the key, train hard and discover something new.”"

In this volume** Sifu John performs the traditonal Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Long Form which is based on the popular line drawings of Yang Chengfu as seen in Fu Zhongwen’s book “”Mastering Yang Style Taijiquan”"; step by step instruction with subtitles of the gestures; the 10 Essential Principles; Dynamics, such as, absorbing, circle, Turtleback and 5-Bow; New Perspectives on Cloud Hands; Push Hands applications; and highlights of Sifu John’s newly revised Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Long Form – Fajin Power Set. No holds barred!

“”I have been asked many times ‘How is tai chi used for martial arts?’ It is a good question because so much tai chi is taught only for health or it’s beautiful flower. I decided to make an instructional tai chi video for health, the beautiful flower and rooted, powerful movements for beginner, intermediate and advanced level martial artists; also, a video that showed up some of the tai chi that may only be spied through the crack in a fence by a modern day Yang Luchan.*** – Sifu John

***Yang Luchan was a worker for the Chen family ( Chen style tai chi chuan) and began learning by observing their training through a crack in a fence. Yang Luchan went on to develop Yang style Tai Chi Chuan and made it more accessible throughout China and subsequently, the world.”
